Project Description

Strategic Project Advisors LLC was engaged by SI Container Builds, a Chicago-based, woman-owned leader in modular construction, to provide strategic consulting services for the installation of a two-story marina amenities building at Navy Pier. The project aimed to deliver a high-impact waterfront facility using repurposed shipping containers, blending sustainability, speed, and cost-efficiency.

The first of its kind, this project is a modular marina structure which required construction over water and changed Chicago’s skyline. The final structure includes a full-service marina office, ship’s store, restrooms, showers, boater’s lounge, bicycle repair station, and pet relief area—all housed within a striking two-story containerized form that complements Navy Pier’s historic and modern aesthetic.
